My name is Jordan and I am a stay at
home Mom who loves crafting!

A little bit about ME!
I grew up in central Connecticut and have always loved horses and dogs. I have been fortunate enough to have been around them most my life (thanks to my Mom who also loves animals). I began riding at Farmington Polo Club when I was about 8 years old. When it was time for my first pony, Fayah, we boarded her at a small barn near our house. We did summer camps, fundays, trail rides, and a ton of shows. She truly was the best pony! Not only did she tote me around, but she did pony rides for birthday parties and was a therapeutic riding horse for many years, not your typical Arab! She later became my kid's first pony too! As Fayah aged (and I grew!) I got my second horse, Belle. Belle was a very young and VERY big draft X mare. Belle taught me a lot about young horses.

I attended Southington High School for the Vocational Agriculture program where I learned some more skills in floral design, shop and animal science. Some of my favorite memories were Bow Night (Holiday floral Sale-where I learned my love of making BOWS!), FFA, tractor driving class, welding, canine grooming, and all things horses. I met a lot of people who are still close friends today.
After SHS, I went to SUNY Cobleskill in upstate NY, where I met my husband, Chris. Chris was an Ag Business major with a fondness for cows, and the dairy industry. For some reason he liked this blue haired horse girl. Being an equine major, I was able to bring Belle to college with me for a semester. She learned to drive and did some awesome clinics with her there as well. Along with a lot of horse related classes, I was on the SUNY Cobleskill Hunt Seat Team and competed at nearby barns. Chris stuck around... he never even complained when tagging along to horse shows in frozen indoors around the state! I graduated in 2007 with a Bachelors in Animal Science with an Equine concentration. I then interned in CT for a Vet that specialized in hydro therapy for canines and equines. Through my internship I met a couple that had a breeding farm for Gypsy Cob horses. I became a barn manager at that farm and helped train numerous horses to ride and drive. I have also worked at a high end horse tack store, and then as a customer service rep./ marketing assistant for Saratoga Horseworks, where I observed many talented sewers and learned some manufacturing techniques. After getting married and having two children, the rising costs of child care led me to be a stay at home mom. I had plans of returning to work once my youngest was in school... however Covid had other plans. To keep my sanity while home schooling two kids, I began crafting more. Here I am a few years later still home and still crafting! In September 2024 I started The Crafty Equine in hopes of selling to craft fairs and other retail stores. Contact me if you have a store and would like to carry my products!

Chris and I now live in upstate NY with our dog Dually, and two children, Landon and Spencer. As a family we enjoy hiking , biking, and being outdoors. I enjoy running year round and hiking with our dog, even though he is getting up in age. Spencer shares my love of horses and has been an inspiration for a lot of my crafting projects. She has been taking riding lessons since 2021. She also is my toughest and most demanding client!

I own various sewing machines, a Maker 3 Cricut cutting machine, and other craft related tools to get the job done. I'm forever grateful to my husband for being handy with tools and woodworking and is willing to help out when needed! I'm not sure why, but he is very supportive of my crafting hobby!

Please feel free to contact me for all your crafting needs,
I love a challenge!
